1: The sun rose over the Bosphorus Strait - The dolphins had come for their once-a-year date

An ancient stage still playing today - I prayed silently it would always stay

2: The sun shone bright over Üsküdar - On a church, a mosque and a David Star

The children celebrated each other’s holidays - All was right though they walked different ways

As the crescent moon - turned the mosque golden blue - I wondered if anything could be more true

If climbing seven hills in the dark wooden night - Would yield the rays of the next - morning’s light
